Rosita was the one who announced Johnny, Meena, and Ash’s first Grammy wins, and was the one to hand them their awards.

Marcus, Stan, and Barry are trained EMTs.

Darius leaves Out of This World before the Majestic Run to be in a TV series that actually gets to be pretty popular.

Johnny is allergic to pine trees like his dad.

Nancy and Mike moved to Chicago after Sing 1 and Mike now works as a performing singer.

Eddie’s parents work as a marketing agent and a real estate agent.

Ash stayed with Meena and her family for a few weeks after Sing 1 before she could get a new apartment without Lance being on the lease.

Suki’s childhood dance teacher was Ryan’s mom.

Eddie has edited multiple Wikipedia pages to win arguments... and Buster has never noticed.

The Revolution Devours Its Children

Most of the victims [of reigns of terror] are simply poor anonymous commoners. Peasants, workers, lower class randos who ran afoul of the regime in one way or another, or who simply live in an area that happens to be in a state of acute unrest, and the government decides to order in some infernal columns.

The official tally of the official Reign of Terror is packed with victims from the Vendée for example, whether they were engaged in the uprising or simply picked up for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Those who were subject to such summary executions, whether by drowning, hanging, cannon fire, guillotine, or machine gun, their names escape our notice because they were nobodies. For every execution of a famous celebrity historical figure there are hundreds or thousands of executions of unknown commoners.

Partly this can be the result of ratcheting up draconian capital punishment for the simplest of crimes. Lots of victims of the French Reign of Terror were pickpockets and thieves, people who had just broken the law. And if you think about the September Massacres, which were a prelude to the official Reign of Terror, something like half the people who were killed were not aristocrats or enemies of the Revolution at all, but people simply being held for having committed some regular old crime.

Have I ever told y'all about my headcanon that Elmer is just a nickname and his real name is actually Douglas? And the reason he got nicknamed Elmer is because the other Newsies started calling him Douglas Fir, like the tree, which developed into calling him various different tree species. The most popular of which was "Elm", so for a while he was getting called "Elm" a good 90% of the time and any new newsies would have thought that was his actual name.

Yeah and then for whatever reason someone decided to full-name him, but instead of calling him by his actual legal name, they just lengthened "Elm" into "Elmer" and everyone thought it was hilarious so they kept calling him Elmer. Now the kid gets whiplash if anyone ever calls him Douglas.
